About JerboasSummaryLong Eared Jerboas are only one of the 33 different types of jerboas. They are small, the head and body together are 70-90 mm, jumping animals that look like mice with really long back legs. Their tails are also long and usually have a little tuft of hair at the end, they use their tails for balance. Jerboas (in general) have also been referred to as "Mini kangaroos". They live in northwest China and extreme southern Mongolia. Almost 95% of their diet is comprised of insects and the rest is grasses and herbs.
I chose this animal because they are really, really, really super adorable; also there aren't very many of them and I think they're an interesting species. |
